Timing begins when selecting either Zero or X and ends when you lose character control by meeting General.

The US Playstation version is considered the "standard" version. Faster original versions (PC, Saturn) will have loads converted to match. Slower versions (Japanese PS1, PS3) will not, but will still be listed.

Allowed Emulators: Xebra, Bizhawk, Mednafen, Duckstation (using default read/seek settings). These are slower than/equal to console loads and will be listed with console. Currently there are no accepted Saturn emulators.

The Fast Disc Speed option on PS2 is banned as it causes crashes.

"Easy" on PC version is not allowed.

100% (X) rules: This category requires completing the game after collecting all of the required items (8 heart tanks, 3 sub-tanks, the EX-tank, and 4 armor parts) as X.
