Timing begins when selecting "Game Start" and ends when you lose control of X after wall climb. Turbo is not allowed.

For SNES categories, Snes9x 1.51x, Snesgt, and Snes9xGX should be submitted under the "Snes9x" platform, and BizHawk, Higan, Bsnes, and Lsnes should be submitted under the "Emulator" platform.
Snes9x 1.43, Zsnes, and Uosnes are banned.

No Maverick Weapons rules: Usage of weapons obtained from the 8 maverick bosses is not allowed. This is a slight variation on the 'Buster Only' category for runs that use Zero's saber in the intro stage.
